I ordered some of these to convert toys from batteries to wall plugs. They do work but they burned out all the toy's bulbs within about 20 secs of being plugged in. Might be too strong for A-C based toys? Also, one of these had the ribbon torn up right out of the package... disappointed with that but not worth the return.

It's possible that the DC output voltage of the wall transformer included in your battery eliminator kit was too large for the toy you are trying to power.
