This Rayovac, 2-position USB battery charger will charge any 2 x AA or 2 x AAA NiMH or NiCad batteries from the USB port on a computer or any standard USB hub. 2 x green LEDs indicate the charge status, and its compact size makes it easy to carry around in a backpack or briefcase. 2 x powerful 2400mAh NiMH AA rechargeable batteries are included which can be used in virtually any electronic device that uses AA batteries. Rechargeable batteries are perfect for heavy use applications where disposable batteries would be costly.

The included 2 x AA rechargeable batteries provide affordable, reusable power for the entire family. Low self-discharge technology allows the batteries to stay charged up to one year when not in use, so they are ready when you need to use them. They hold a charge 3 times longer than standard NiMH rechargeables when not is use and can be recharged up to 150 times! NiMH batteries do not have a “memory effect”, meaning that it is OK if you repeatedly recharge them after only being partially discharged. Other types of rechargeable battery chemistries such as NiCad batteries have a “memory effect” and lose their maximum energy capacity if recharged before being fully discharged.

Rechargeable batteries are good for the environment because you will reduce waste by keeping disposable batteries out of the landfills, and you will also save hundreds of dollars over disposable alkaline batteries.
